Our Mission

To remember with dignity.

The Violet Memorial is a community-led sanctuary for the women and children of the Caribbean whose lives were taken too soon. We exist to ensure their stories are neither rushed nor reduced — but held, honored, and carried forward.

Remembrance

We center each person as a daughter, mother, sister, friend — never as a headline.

Dignity

Every memorial is built with care for families and for the truth of a life lived.

Awareness

We surface support resources so that grief can become a path toward protection.

Why this exists

Across the Caribbean, too many lives have been lost to violence and too quickly forgotten by the cycle of news. We believe remembrance is a form of resistance — and a form of love.

This page is not a foundation or an organization. It is a small, community-tended space, created by Devvize Services, where anyone may come to light a candle, read a name, or simply sit in quiet.

If you would like to add a memorial, share a memory, or simply talk, please reach out. Every name belongs here.

A gentle promise

We will not highlight how they died.
We will celebrate how they lived.

We understand that each person here lost their life, and we hold that grief with care. But we will not turn their story into the violence that ended it. The headlines have done that enough.

On this page you will find a favourite song, a quiet morning, a child's laugh, the way a mother braided hair on the veranda. Because they were — and always will be — so much more than their death.
